The hotel offered fabulous ocean views from the balcony, which we couldn't get enough of. The location was great, situated right by the ocean and close to Furnas. The pool and jacuzzi were fantastic and came in handy when the ocean was too rough to swim in. We also enjoyed the fun city center and the good food in the nearby restaurants. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, making our stay even better. The great wifi was a bonus.
The writing folder provided in the room was of cheap quality and lacked paper to write thank you notes on. We also found it a bit inconvenient to have to pay a deposit for towels to use the jacuzzi - it seemed a bit unnecessary.

Nice hotel with a good location by the sea. But the situation is not so good for excursions, as generally, one first has to drive up to Furnas in order to drive down the mountain again in order to get to the neighboured village. The breakfast was very good. It is a pity that there was no natural yogurt for muesli. But instead, there were freshly pressed juices and fresh fruit.
Since we had to go to the airport very early in the morning, we were offered a packed lunch instead of breakfast. The lunch package did not correspond to the standard of the hotel. There were 2 2.5 cm thick slices of white bread without butter with only a slice of cheese in between, cookies and a small Tetrapak juice. The bread could have already been covered with butter and a little more content. An apple or a pear would not have been bad either.

The nice little hotel is modeled after a lighthouse and is located very quietly and a little bit secluded right at a small pier with a beautiful view to the Atlantic Ocean. To the capital Ponta Delgada it is 1 hour drive with partly serpentine roads. A rental car is for my opinion inevitable. The hotel is clean and the staff nice and friendly. The rooms are sufficiently large and simply furnished, therefore I would consider 4 stars as exaggerated. We liked it anyway, as we don't have high expectations and we spend most of the time and look at the country and the people. Price - performance was ok and we would book it again.
The breakfast is very small in the selection and almost daily the same, especially the coffee is not a delicacy, not to say terrible, despite the high-quality machine. There is really room for improvement. The rooms are well-listened, so that all human noises from the neighbouring rooms can be heard. Our balcony sliding door was stiff and a challenge for a woman. The television is small and without German programs.

As young people, we loved the spacious and clean rooms, the beautiful interior decorations, and the game room in the cellar. The buffet breakfast made with local products was delicious, and the panoramic view from the hotel tower was stunning. The bar had a great variety of alcoholic beverages, and the location by the sea with local bars within walking distance was perfect. The pool and spa facilities were also a nice added touch.
Felt very special, no reason to complain.

Correct price/quality ratio, very friendly personnel, very clean and comfortable rooms. I can only recommend this hotel.
Small thing to improve: please remove the "emergency" switch between the two bedlight swithces above the bed. Frequently people push this button by mistake, triggering a false alarm. This switch should be placed higher and towards the side of a bed. Breakfast could be improved, but we did not go to this hotel for a huge buffet breakfast, so I think it is normal not to expect a luxury breakfast for this rate.

The Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. All in all I think this hotel was the best value for money I had on my holidays. I also liked the jacuzzi and the pool.
Breakfast was ok except for the horrible juice but that seems to be given for breakfast in all hotels.

We had an amazing time at this charming hotel. The throwback design really added to the charm and the upgrade to a sea view room was a fantastic surprise. The view of the marina and ocean from our room was breathtaking. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection and the pool and hot tub were perfect for relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The town of Povoacao was attractive with great restaurants within walking distance. There's even a picturesque trail starting from the beach to the nearby village of Ribeira Quente, perfect for hiking.
Felt extremely safe, no complaints whatsoever.

Very simple room, broken shower. It seemed that we were only people in the hotel. Not recommended

The stuff was super helpful and super friendly. We even came back to hotel for another night. Was nice to wake up with a view on the ocean. For people traveling in-between faunas and nordeste, this hotel is great deal.
